Summer Designing Contest Winners + Event Preparations

Hi Everyone!

Just some things to share with you all so let's get started! If you keep up with the forums then you'd know Michael posted a forum about a Summer Designing contest (click here to read it)! Well, the contest has ended and it he picked three winners!

Some quick details about what happens if you win:
If you happen to win, your item gets implemented in the game and you win bugs.

New Agent: Thomas

Hi Everyone!

If you haven't noticed already, Chobots added a new agent to the team! So I'd like to give a huge welcome to Thomas! I'm sure you'll be an amazing part of the team. Thomas took the time to let me interview him so I thought I'd share it with you guys. Let's begin!

Luna: What was your reaction when you found out you became an agent?

Thomas:Well, I didn't have too much of a huge reaction at first, because I literally had just woken up. I got on Skype and got tons of messages saying "get to the meeting!" and "congratulations" so I had no idea at first. Eventually I put it together, and I had tons of joy and honor. I'm hoping to do a responsible job as an agent.

Luna: How did you find out about Chobots?

Thomas: found out about Chobots.com back in 2009 from Mimo's CP website where there was a banner. It seemed interesting, so I signed up under the username "redcp". I found out about Chobots.net from a Skype status update from Zoo on one of the first days Chobots.net had released. It was something like "New Chobots (:" so of course I signed up since I loved Chobots!

Luna: If you could have any position on Chobots, what would it be and why?
Thomas: I'd say Moderation, because it's my best skill/talent, plus I'd have experience from being an agent with moderating the Chobots.net game. I've been apart of Moderation-like things since late 2007 and ever since I've done a pretty good job, if I say so myself :p

Luna: What is your favorite thing about Chobots?
Thomas: The community is probably my favorite thing. It's a nice bunch of active users who do a good job at their roles, I think they all have amazing talents and are unique. It's a nice community, pretty much, and I hope we can get the user base expanded.

Game Night!

Hi Everyone!

How're all you all? I hope you had an amazing weekend. If you haven't noticed, the last time we had a Game Night on Chobots was 3 weeks ago! Seems like it's been longer, don't you think? That's why tomorrow Chobots is hosting a Game Night for us!

You heard correct, they will be hosting a Game Night tomorrow - Tuesday, July 30th, at 9:00PM Cho-Time! The contest boards will be enabled and you'll be able to have a fun competition with your friends for the chance of getting first place!

Note; If you have already won a game night in the past, you can't win the same game again. If you would like to compete again you'll have to find a different game to play.

Remember that; Cheating is FORBIDDEN! If you happen to find a user cheating, be sure to report them by leave a comment here explaining what the user did. Be sure to attach a photo obtaining the proof as well. By doing so, it will prove your report is correct/true

Party and Pictionary/Hangman recap

Hi Everyone!

I hope you're all doing great and having/had a nice weekend! I have a few things to share with you guys so let's begin,

 

Not to long ago, we had a little party. We got to visit some pretty cool rooms and witness some amazing magic from our users. We also held a pictionary and hangman event! I was able to host the Pictionary event and I hope you all had a great time. During the event we even had a bit of rain I'm sure everyone enjoyed.

dermlyn: I really liked the party and the event because they were both really fun and I couldn't stop laughing because of how funny everyone was! Also the rain of some new items was nice too. :3

From what they said, everyone seemed to have a great time! Parties and events like this are held frequently on Chobots so if you missed this one, no need to worry. There will be more in the future

If you happen to be a user on the Chobots Forums then you might have noticed they have added 2 new Forum Legends! If you don't know what a forum legend is, to put it straight to the point, it's someone who follows the rules on the forums, is active on the forum, posts a lot of good quality posts, etc. On to the new forum legends:

Agents Meeting

Hi Everyone

This a post for the Agents of Chobots. On Monday, July 29th, 2013 there will be an Agent meeting at 9:30PM Cho-Time. At the meeting we will be discussing events, suggestions, and how Chobots is doing.

All Agents are asked to attend but it is not mandatory. We will meet in the most populated city/server in the Agents' HQ. If you happen to have any questions or concerns that you feel need to be discussed, please have your inquires ready for the meeting.

Anime Party Recap!

Hi Everyone!
I hope you all had an amazing time at the Anime themed party we had yesterday!
The party was amazing and I'm glad I was able to make it!

The party was filled with amazing colors, tons of magic and even a little bit of rain! Anime Party!

Hi Everyone!

Summer Design Contest!

Hi Everyone!
Do you like to design? If so, this contest is perfect for you! Chobots is having a designing contest but the theme of it is Summer. We realized we're around the middle of Summer and Chobots would like to increase it's Chobots Summer clothing!

For the contest you can design as many items as you want. You just have to make sure it fits with a Summer theme and is appropriate for Chobots. You can use any program you'd like! From programs like Photoshop to even just drawing it on paper! You also don't even have to design clothing. You could even design some furniture for your home. 

The contest will go from July 21st - July 31st. When you have your finished entry submit it in the thread comments of the contest post here. After the contest has ended they will pick and announce the winners and the designs that won will be implemented into the game! Sounds like an interesting contest right? You get to show off your skills and have a chance of getting an item or multiple items implemented into Chobots!

Reminder: Cheating is FORBIDDEN and frowned upon on Chobots. If caught cheating you'll will be disqualified from the contest.

Chobots is hiring!

Hi Everyone!

If you're bored over the summer, getting some work experience from Chobots could be a great way to pass some time! Chobots is always open for improvement in the site so because of this they are hiring.

They are currently looking for the following:

Premium Guru: 
As the premium Guru, your only concern is to keep the $hop, Daily Draw, and Citizenship page up to date. You will be constantly thinking of new ideas and offers for citizenship packages and looking for new items to be in the $hop.
Requirements: You need to be an active user, know what you are doing, be able to communicate efficiently, and be motivated to do your job. From what Chobots said, it is preferred you have marketing experience.

Staff Author:
If you love and enjoy writing then this is a great position for you! It's the only thing you'll be doing all day. You will need to be working closely with the Chobots staff in order to produce all sorts of documentation and other types of texts; by doing this you will also become a Chobots expert. Writing the official blog posts is also a big responsibility.
Requirements: You need to have a lot of time on your hands and be able to write large amounts of writing in a short amount of time. You should also have an advanced level of English writing and comprehension. As the staff author you should be able to work independently as well as be able to co-operate with a team

Creative Director:
With this position, the future of Chobots depends on you. Working with the moderators and designers you will be in charge of parties, events, competitions, etc. You will be focusing and making sure everyone is having fun and enjoying themselves on Chobots. Making sure they enjoy themselves at parties, events, etc. by inventing new activities and events for everyone. Quite a bit of your time will be spent planning on what will be going on Chobots in the next few months.
Requirements: You need to be an organized person, creative, and ambitious. When faced/dealing with problems you need to be able to think about practical solutions and with this you need to be able to carry them out effectively. You should also always be motivated to carry out the creativity on Chobots while being a very outgoing and having a positive spirit.
Note: This is not a blogging position. Most of the work consists of writing documentation for the team.

If you'd like to apply for one of these positions, email admin@chobots.net with your resume/application. If you are able to make them laugh or able to make them like you with the resume, you'll have a higher chance of making it. Keep in mind that this work is voluntary and they do not offer salary at the moment.

We've been having quite a few updates lately and one new one I'm sure you'll all enjoy is something called the Daily Draw! When visiting the news page on Chobots you'll notice that under featured player you'll see this snazzy button :

The Daily Draw is basically a place where you pay bugs for a chance to win the prize. The current prize as of now is 5 days of citizenship. You can enter as many times as you want. It's a pretty neat way to win some pretty cool prizes! What do you guys think of it?  Be sure to check out the new feature. I'm sure you'll all enjoy it! Councilor: New Chobots Status?

Hello Cho's!
If you guys don't follow the forums, or weren't online at the time of announcement, Jake came on using a different badge than his Chief Admin badge.  As you may know, many questions were asked as soon as they saw the transition.  Well, we asked Jake some questions, trying to figure out what it was that was on his playercard.  He finally gave us an answer, to which he said that a new Councilor status is soon to be coming to Chobots.  Basically, what the Councilor status is, is a system where the chosen Councilors (known as a counsel) can come together and come up with ideas for changes and improvements in the Chobots community.  Their role is to make ideas of improving Chobots to be a better community for it's players.

How can I become a Councilor?

Be elected by your designated group
The Council will consist of 8 total members: 2 juniors, 2 citizens, 1 agent, 1 journalist, 1 moderator, and 1 administrator.  The following groups are responsible for how the Councillors are chosen:
Jr. Junior Councillor - General Community
Sr. Junior Councillor - Testing Team
Jr. Citizen Councillor - General Community
Sr. Citizen Councillor - Forum Team
Agent Councillor - Agent Team
Journalist Councillor - Journalist Team
Moderator Councillor - Moderation Team



You will also stay a Councilor forever until you are inactive for at least one month (4 weeks), break rules, or if you resign from your position.  I feel like this will be a great goal for everyone to strive for.  What are your thoughts about this new status/system?  If you have any further questions that need to be answered, please check out Jake's FAQ post for more information.

Pet Party Recap 7-13-13

Hello Chobots!
As most of us know, there was a citizens only pet party that was held in the Citizens HQ today!  I was lucky enough to make it on time and snap a few screenshots of the party!

Everyone, plus the pets, enjoyed the party!

I hope everyone had a great time at the party!  I was a bit afk through a bit of the party, but I did catch most of it!  There was magic, music, and even a bit of rain involved in this party!  We all had our pets play and have a good time while we all partied and had fun in the citizens HQ.  All in all, it was a fun party to be at.  If you want to go to more exclusives parties like this, consider buying citizenship from here, or participating in contests that are held around Chobots World!  Thank you to the Chobots Team for hosting such a terrific party, and once again, I hope you all had fun, because I know I did!

Hello Chobots! 

Today, there were eight new clothes added to our shop catalogs in-game! There's not a theme to these items, but they sure do look nice to have! They're all very summery, don't you think?

Personally, my favorite item is the C hat or Ice Cream backpack because these two items really stand out in an outfit, and the best thing about them is that they are really cheap to buy from the shop.

Luna's Item Picks

My personal favorite item(s) would be the Smiley Shirt and the C Hat! The reason is because I feel like the shirt itself is simple but very cute. It also has the ability of working well with tons of outfits! The C Hat is a fav because it's simple as well, with the color you want you can wear it with pretty much anything. I feel like both items are great Summer pick ups! They also both sell for pretty cheap prices!

I hope you enjoy the items!  I can't wait to see what kind of styles people make with them.

Garbage Collector Winners

Hi Everyone!

As you know, we had a competition to see on who could collect the most garbage and clean up our air since the smell we had was terrible. After a few days of hard work three Chobots were able to get the top three scores and here they are:

July Journalists

Hello Cho's!
It's a brand new month, and so that means brand new journalists!  The journalist program is a program that encourages users to create amazing blogs that can be showcased on the official blog, which you can visit by clicking here.  If you want to apply for journalism, make sure that your blog follows the criteria that follows:

• Your blog MUST be at least one month old.
• You must update your blog weekly, with various kinds of posts.
• Every post on your blog must be written by an author in his/her own words.  Make sure you aren't copying from other posts.
• Have a nicely decorated blog.  Include a template/header on your blog to give it an extra decorative look! 

If you feel as if your blog is journalism worthy, then submit your blog by leaving a comment on the official blog's journalism post.  Any blogs submitted anywhere else will not be submitted for journalism.  If you do get chosen as a journalist, you get many great perks, such as:

• Your bog will be featured on top of the play page as well as on the official blog's sidebar.
• You will have a journalist badge with you blog's title on it.
• One week of free citizenship will be added to your account, as well as you will be rewarded with the feather hand item.
• Your Chobots name-tag will be purple.
• You will be able to send private messages to all staff members, regardless if their playercard is blocked or not.
• You will be able to write one post on the official Chobots blog.

If you want to submit your blog for journalism, you have until July 19th.  All comments left on the official blog will be reviewed by the Chobots Team once submissions are closed.  Also remember that if you were a July Journalist, and you want to keep your status, you must re-submit your blog.

Comic Winners!

Hi Everyone!
If you keep up with the main blog you would have known that Chobots was hosting a comic contest. Quite a few people entered and they all had amazing entries! The staff looked at all the entries and have found three winners! So I decided to announce them to you all:

Pets Weekend

Hello Cho's!
I hope you're having a great weekend so far!  I'm looking forward to the weekend for many reasons, but one is definitely pets weekend!

Pets weekend will consist of three events - two contests and a party!  A further description of these events are below:

• Best Looking Pet Contest - Just like a best looking Chobot contest, but this is for the pets!  ANY pet owner can submit a picture to the main blog post here.  Any pictures submitted elsewhere will NOT be counted into the competition.
• "My Pet and I" Contest - Pets are here for more reasons than to just take care of him/her.  Pets also love to have fun, be with their owners, and explore Chobots.  If you think you and your pet have tons of fun together, consider drawing a picture or submitting a short video of you and your pet do for fun!  It can range from playing games together all the way to simply having a conversation with each other.
• Pets Party (Citizens Only) - Citizenship allows many features, but one of those features include getting to walk your pet around Chobots!  Since the pets are able to walk with their citizen owners, there will be a citizens only party on July 13th, at 8:00pm Cho-Time in the Citizens HQ.  Bring your pets and have a great time!
